Cobalt blue is a blue pigment consisting of aluminum oxide and cobalt oxide. It is the product of reaction calcium at high temperature and that makes it very resistant. Cobalt blue pigments are very stable to acids, alkalis and temperature (more than 1000 °C). It is used for the same purpose as Ultramarine, but unlike Ultramarine cobalt blue is very usable in concrete, glass and ceramic industry. Only cobalt blue can permanently color mass concrete to blue.
